Good reading for Quarter Horse history buffs
Good reading for the Quarter Horse history buff. Lots of information about the early uses of the breed. Lots of old pictures. I bought this product because I research ols pedigrees/bloodlines., and breed histories. Not a lot of specfic bloodline coverage, but a good read, none the less.

East to west coverage of the development of the running Quarter Horse.
Great reading for the Quarter Horse history buff, especially the racing aspect of the breed. Loaded with information about the early horses and types that contributed to the breed, before the registry was formed, and the breed development from east to west. Information on early breeders. Lots of old bloodlines discussed. The development of QH racing is also discussed. Not a lot of pictures.

Awesome information for researchers of older horse breeds.
I bought this product because I am a horse pedigree researcher, and use a broad base in different breed information. I found this book a wonderful source of old pedigree information... much more than I ever suspected would be in the book. It even listed the importers who brought these horses into the U.S. My only dislike of the book, was that it did not provide information of who would later own these horses and the locations they were owned, which would have been beneficial to my research. There were some gaps in the information, due to the reprinting and digitalizing the original material, but those were forewarned by the seller. This book would be a great asset to those interested in the French Coach Horse, but lacks that final ownership and location information to assist in general horse pedigree research, following the use of this breed into other breeds. This product provided much more pedigree information for its particular breed, than any other breed stud book I have owned.
