Vivid drawings.
There is a moral in the story... especially one of being obedient. The last 16 years of my teaching career was as a certified elementary librarian. I read STREGA NONA and other Tomie de Paleo books more than once to my K-5th grade classes that came to the library weekly. The pictures were vivid and the stories enjoyable. Hid recent death is a loss to the world of children's books
