Cloverfield
Cloverfield makes Godzilla look like Barney, enough said. This movie as a steelbook version makes it even more awesome! Highly recommended!

A televent not for the common layman
A very sci-fi and enjoyable televent, reminiscent of the science presented in the golden age of Star Trek. That being said, this isn't everyone's cup of tea. Unless you have a background in science, or even have a University education, you won't understand the science at all. The reason this miniseries got generally unfavourable reviews was because this kind of entertainment can only appeal to intellectuals. If you're a sci-fi fan/Star Trek fan, you would enjoy this.

A modern day Shakespearean tragedy
Wow. A modern day Shakespearean tragedy so beautiful you'd have to be heartless not to feel something watching this. An epic struggle between a Father and son for survival in an unrecognizable wasteland. How this differs from the book? One main factor: the desolate isolation and harshness of the environment and circumstances are in your face the entire movie. In the book, the surroundings can't be as omnipresent as in this film. This film would surely be one of Artistotle's dramatic tragedies that cause a "purgation of soul". I highly recommend this beautiful tragedy to everyone.
