Great portrait lens!
Fast AF both for stills and video, sharp with good color rendering. Works great with my A7III although it suffers from banding under certain artificial lighting scenarios. Lightweight and pleasing bokeh in the center with cat's eye shape near the edges.
1.8 aperture is more than enough for a nice compressed background and great subject separation. Excellent lens!

Good light but overheats.
These are pretty powerful and have a good quality, consistent light. Unfortunately they overheat and burn out. I've had 2 of them burn out in the middle of a shoot, indoors and under controlled conditions. That's the reason they're discontinued. Dealing with Vivitar (Sakar intl.) for warranty replacement was not a good experience. I guess for the price you could buy 2 or 3 and replace when they fail but I'd rather have something longer lasting.
