I am aself-made DIY hifi uprader of various CD /SACD players lke Pioneer / TEAC / Esoteric / SONY mainly upgrading the PSU and audio pcb of those players which allowes them to reach a hi-end sound level. My first upgraded cd player was the SONY CDP101 . my latest is SACD/DVD/CD player ESOTERIC DV50 . i guess a streamer/DAC also can be upgraded.
I use tube output with miniture military grade tubes NOS jan6111wa or opamps by Burson Audio v6 vivid/classic . new 5v regs low noise etc. faster recovery diodes in psu .better capacitors etc. made my own speakers drsigned by Troels Graversen DTQWT II .
I ALWATYS PREFER cd THAN A STREAMING GIG.

great sound
made a huge difference in sound when comparing to EL34 German NOS NIB .

great tester
works well and makes life easier when adjustinging bias of tubes so if you hve friends that have tube amps you can an expert on adjusting bias.

High end sound for a reasonable price and lots of fun putting it together.
Yes it's easy to assemble the kit.I bought readymade PCB without tubes.Custom made case/chassis with all hardware. I made a dual mono tube amp. It's easy just leave out the potentiometer and make a direct input to each channel. Iuse another kit ready assembled preamplifier clone of Marantz M7. Both play fantastic sound but keep in mind that you need high efficiency speakers at least 90dB so you can get the best sound out of 300B power triodes tubes. Of course do not forget to get a very good power supply for the amp as well high grade of output transformer like Lundhal or something like it.I recommend this product for starting a journey to high end sound for a very reasonable price 😀
