Great little illustrated intro to the old cottage industry of lacemaking
This is a very good introduction to the old cottage industry of lacemaking by hand. It deals with the history of lacemaking, the tools of the trade, including various types of bobbin - English and Continental - and the types of lace made. Very well illustrated with photographs. This slim little book is great value.

Discover Biggleswade in Bedfordshire in Words and 200 Pictures.
Packed with more than two hundred photographs from the archives of Biggleswade History Society, with informative captions written by the late Ken Page, Biggleswade's historian par excellence, this book is carefully organised into ten sections. The introduction, also written by Ken Page, is a history of this Bedfordshire market town in a nutshell. If it leaves you wanting to know more, look at the history society's website, which has many items written by Ken, including several of his illustrated guides to Biggleswade streets. This book is a good starting point for anyone wanting to learn about Biggleswade and will also provide a nostalgic walk down memory lane for residents of Biggleswade past and present.

A good quality sturdy wire that will not rust
Ideal for rewiring the beaded spangles on lacemaking bobbins. A heavy quality sturdy wire which will not rust.
