Simple is as simple does
the only con about this product is its association with Windows... Otherwise SIIG crafted a perfect firewire solution. install hardware, run the perf power, install driver, plug in firewire device enjoy.

Just the tip...
The unit i purchased, million reasons, but the Y in the Y didn't work. However they are good intermediate solutions for an in the now need. Longevity, 2 years, the plastic bushings sleeve on the tip will eventually break. i have this and 2 10' 1/4 balanced cables so far all but 1 TRS has remain intact. As i mentioned a million reasons to why so dont let this account be a deciding factor...
