Thoroughly good yarn. The girls bring to life the trials endured by their characters during some very dark days. The script includes details from their diaries, as well as other sources. The recreation of the locations was also carried out quite well. Impressive. The audience can relate to the excitement of each character to be going to war, then their responses when the realities of war crash down on them. Several tragedies are alluded to through the series, especially the sinking of hospital ships, and the horrific overwhelming of whole battalions along the Western Front. Good for historical guidance, and each main character has an appeal that will engage the viewer.
