OK, but there is a better option
Well, its just an 8 port gigabit Ethernet switch. Make sure you get at least a V2 product since these have QOS (quality of service) features. If you are very tight on budget, it should serve you well.
A better option is to get a TL-SG108P (again V2 or higher). This will cost a little bit more, but provides a lot more features that may be of benefit now or into the future. Out of the box, the unit behaves like a TL-SG1008.
eg:
Web base management for configuration (V2 only), monitoring and testing. (Also a Windows based management tool).
VLANs
QOS
Loop detection
Cable testing
Please check full specs of each product on the TP-Link website.
