Oil the rubber
Prior to use, rub the rubber ring with some vegetable oil. It makes twisting in place easier and extends the life of the ring from 2 years to 4

Solar Observer - happiness comes each time you turn it on!!!
6 stars of 5 - well earned bonus. This is my 2nd solar observer. The first died of a lot of dropping from ladders etc. MY FAULT! The extra strong antenna is the reason I returned to Solar Observer. I live in a bowl and reception is terrible - except for C Crane. I had months ago purchased 2 name brand pocket radios. Waste of $$$$. C Crane is the best investment for radio listeners!
