E6300 Intel 2.8 ghz Pentium 2 Core
1 of 1 found this helpful Bang for the Buck, The E6300 with the 1066 BUSS is a strong performer. Consistently out performs the E5000 series because of the memory speed and you will not find much difference the E6300 versus E7400 processors, which have the same clock speed, only diffence in L-2 cache. Your hard drive becomes the limiting factor and not the processing with the E6300. Moderate gaming chip with limited overclocking capability though. I like the 1066 BUSS that matches the 1066 BUSS on the memory if your motherboard supports 1066 DDR2. Then,it is 1:1 clocking, no mismatch.

Raptor WD the best in spin drive
1 of 1 found this helpful Even though MS windows 7 experience index gives only a 5.9, don't believe it... testing transfer rates consistently at 120 Meg bits per second. That is 6 times faster that 7200 spin drives. If you raid them you get 240+++ meg bit per second about half rate of SSD but only 1/3rd the price.

BIOSTAR Pentium 4 system Desktop+Intel P4 3.0
1 of 1 found this helpful BIOSTAR created one of the most stable and desired Intel Based Pentium 4 motherboards. Even though they have stopped production a few years ago, this motherboard supports features and has performance in a neat and small package. Easy upgrade for those who have an older pentium or celeron system that needs increase hard drive speed, memory (dual channel) and USB support. Support AGP 8X, but I recommend anything in the ATI x600 series or NVidia x600 series or higher. Example is ATI 9600 or 9800 with DVI support. For this Intel P4 processor capability even if you had a PCIx16, the maximum CPU processing power would not be enough beyond 8X so the AGP is adequate. Strongly recommend an external 8X AGP video card to maximize peformance since the buit in Intel 865 chipset is adequate, but has video lag at higher resolution above 1024x800.
Easy replacement or upgrade for Emachine, HP, Compaq, Gateway above 2004, and Acer desktops. BIOSTAR's sister motherboard is the P4M800.
From the standpoint of the Pentium 4 and Pentium 4 extreme series, this is good motherboard that supports Windows XP, but because of the max memory is 2 gigabyte dual channel DDR400 (800 mhz) and 32 bit only capability, I don't suggest upgrading to Vista or Windows 7. That is why I recommend a very economical upgrade (less than $100) for those older Pentium and Celeron systems using the 400 mhz of 533 mhz BUS. The SATA 150 supports the fastest DVDRW and BlueRay and the faster hard drive SATA2 will provide good performance.
