A Satellite Designers Review.....The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of the Breville miro-wave oven

- The ONLY quick two knob control I have found. The most pleasurable and relaxing interface that I have ever seen. One knob for time, and a 2nd knob for power.....And that is all you need.....believe me, this is the fastest M-wave ever to set your cooking time and tempt. A tribute to the Engineers who designed the best M-wave control and display interface in the world.
- The best display I have every seen..... LARGE lighted readout of remaining time and power levels....bothe easilt set real time very fast with the two knobs
- Powerful Magnatron. Cooks fast
The BAD:
- This M-wave is expensive and other can cook for less
- The inside is painted (others have better more expensive stainless or oven type metals which last much longer than a painted surface.
- The internal design of cooking compartment has allot of seems "painted" and the moisture related to to cooked food soaks into those seems and causes a premature rusting.
- My Breville begain Rusting everywhere.....not just seems...all over inside and around the inside by the door.
- It began arching and melted the defuser, and the arch continued and melted the wave-guide behind the diffuser.
Summary..... I threw it in the trash after only 4 years of service.
But this is the weird thing. I really enjoy the two knob interface, and large lighted display...... So I purchased the same model :-/ which seems weird to me....But I find those two knobs and large LCD display to be very easy compared to ALL other M-waves. I also like the easy open door.
Not pushing any buttons (Only knobs) is cool and so easy and with the LARGEST display ever,... A tribute to the Engineers who designed the best M-wave control and display interface in the world.
Combine this interface with a better oven wall material and you have the best M-wave in the world !!!
I leave the door open for a while to allow moisture to escape after cooking something hot with stream. That way the interior paint will last longer.
