Burner 09 iron set
2 of 3 found this helpful I was a little hesitant at first when deciding to purchase these clubs. I am not a low handicap golfer and was really torn between these clubs and the burner plus series (as they are designed for a high handicap). I will say that unless you have a severe slice/hook or little to no swing consistency, than these clubs are an excellent choice. The low irons are very easy to hit and very long, I hit the 4 iron about 15-20 yards short of my typical drive, roughly 230. The clubs definitely add distance, but also give a very nice feel to the swing, as if they are guiding your down-swing in the right direction (could have to do with the lower COG of the club). The 6/7/8 feel like your typical club with a healthy mix of forgiveness and but also shot control (they are not just going to fly straight). the 9/pitching/sand have much more feel and allow you to really work the ball, I have a natural draw to my shot and it is reflected but not accentuated in these clubs.
That said I still hit bad shots now and then (as I assume you will as well) but these clubs really make the good shots feel great. A great set for a great price (really liked Jack's golf, look for his ebay store). I think these clubs are a good choice for anyone looking to bring out the best parts of their game without accentuating the bad parts.
For comparison to yourself I am around a 15-20 handicap, play about two full rounds a week. I am certainly not a great golfer, I have my double bogie holes, and bad shots, but I don't think this set was necessarily designed for the low handicapper as Taylormade says it is. Works well for me and I think it will work well for you as well.
