Highly recommend for someone who wants Super High quality without the price
I'm a 40 year old that has enjoyed music and surround sound most of my life and has tried lots of stuff looking for the perfect sound. This 7 channel Preamp/Processor has excellent sound quality and is still better than almost anything out there. I've owed many processors or preamps including Arcam, Adcom, NAD, BK, Rotel, Yamaha, Denon, Pioneer Elite, Sony, and Harmon Kardon and this older Lexicon still kicks butt, it sounds heads and shoulders better than any of these. It doesn't do HDMI and may not have the "latest greatest" particular surround sound format that is available but their Logic 7 or Music 7 will out perform any new thing there is period. My living room has this Lexicon DC1 ran through a ADA Amp, solid silver interconnects, into Thiel speakers with Miller and Krissel Sub. My "Man Cave" has a Lexicon DC1 withhold solid silver interconnects, ADCOM 7400 amp, And Paradigm Monitor 7, CC370, and 4 Atoms. Because of the age it is by far the cheapest "real quality" processor out there.

A really great buy for high quality sound in a 5 channel amp.
This is a EXCELENT surround sound amplifier for most systems it produces 60 W RMS @ 8Ohms and 90W RMS @4Ohms but also has lots of headroom too make it seem more like 200-250W/ Channel compared to "top of the line" receivers (Denon, Marantz, Yamaha, and Harman Kardon) and yes I have owed at least one and usually more of each one. It doesn't have the power to truly drive large inefficient speakers like Martin Logan, Thiel, Warfedale, etc, and it doesn't sound like a Krell, or Mark Levinson 2 channel set up, but it is no where near what the cost, nor is it designed to be compared to such products. It does do a very good job for what most people's needs are for most speakers and does it much, much better than a all in one receiver does.
