Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance (Xbox)
I have played several of the PC versions of the Baldur's Gate games and loved them and am loving this one as well. I was a bit dissapointed at not being able to bring along a party of friends but this has been made up for by the ability to include my wife. We are playing this together and it has been a blast. Some areas are hard to get through as a team but for the most part it is an advantage to have a partner. The graphics are incredible and the attention to detail is awesome, all the way from blinking and breathing to jiggly chests makes the gameplay very immersive. It seems as though the weapons and quests will be never ending and that makes for a fun game. Combat is difficult enough to be fun but not so challenging so as to be impossible. I just finished Doom3 and found the combat to irritatingly difficult and took a lot of fun out of the game. It just does not seem right that you should have to cheat in God mode just to get through a game even with the "easy" setting. In my opinion, this is the best installment in this series and I am looking forward to playing Dark Alliance 2. Hopefully they bring more like this to Xbox.

CSI XBOX edition
Game play is very simple and has a very short learning curve. However, it seems that the game was rushed to market as there are an incredible number of glitches. I encountered a major glitch that would not let me out of the opening crime scene which I still have yet to fix..................VERY FRUSTRATING. Looking on the internet (via Google) brings up a number of reviews that say the same thing although I have yet to see a solution for my particular problem.

The Bard's Tale (Xbox)
This game is a light hearted relief to the dark and serious games that are so prevalent today. I just finished Doom 3 and Halo 2 and had several weeks of bad dreams but with this game there is a relaxed fun feeling. The graphics do leave a bit to be desired when compared to current standards but this is more than made up for by the irreverent humor. I would suggest you get a hold pf a simple walkthrough as it is very easy to miss a lot of neat stuff which will shorten the game but can also keep you from finishing some of the quests as it is not easy (sometimes impossible) to go back and play through an area again. I do LOVE the fact that we do not have to break 5 million barrels and make massive trips to "town" to sell things to get money due to the system of automatically converting items to silver. I also love the fact that better itmes will automatically equip themselves. I had a hard time with Diablo 2 because I could not decide what to keep and what to sell so it is nice for a change to just sit down and mindlessly play a game. CONCLUSION: This is a great game to just enjoy and not think too much.
