Where was Josephine Baker?
I bought this book for the images mostly. I appreciate the fact that Bessie Smith was mentioned.
But how could an entire issue be written without mentioning Josephine Baker? Josephine was the
queen of the roaring 20's and no one could do the Charleston better than she. She inspired the
hairstyles and fashions that women wore in the 20's. Though she was living in Paris in the 20's
her influence was world wide.
