GWAR-HELL-O!

GWAR's debut CD.. great, but a little different than the other albums.
The debut CD from GWAR - Hello, is different from all of their later albums. I have heard some people say it seems a little more punk rock.. and a little less metal thrash. I have to agree with some of those comments. The lyrics seem less satirical, the music is not laden with the metal riffs and chord crunch that most of their albums seem to have. It is a very good album, the songs rock and over a dozen songs give the band lots of room to show their stuff. Their stuff is a hard edged punk rock with some standard rock and roll mixed in. This album, even though different than their other albums is a great CD. strong songs and little to no filler. A great first try for a band that in my opinion is one of the most under rated bands in history. If you think like I used to.. That GWAR was bad music, played by bad musicians, for bad people, just watch them play Carry on Wayward Son By Kansas. That's when I realized that these guys were great musicians, who play great music for great people like me. Buy this CD.

Violence had Arrived as expected...perfect, another great CD by GWAR.
GWAR is my new favorite band. Hard and heavy, with satire and humor mixed in with the metal.
I started with Beyond Hell and now have all of the GWAR studio CD's. Other bands don't have that fun/heavy feel. Rammstein, Static X, Armored Saint...no matter what I listen to I am now comparing it to GWAR. Nothing holds up, if it's fast, it's all the same and boring. If it's heavy, It's way too serious. If it's satirical it's in the Spinal Tap vein..which for me is just not heavy metal enough.
GWAR has it all. fast, funny heavy satirical funky punk thrash metal. If Faith No More had a baby with Pantera it would be named GWAR.
