" for science fiction film of 1951 it held its own quite well."
For anybody was a real science fiction fan and can appreciate classical films well this is a must-have.- the film itself I don't think was ever put to Blu-ray. ( nor needs to be *).. to appreciate it and how was originally filmed/ light and shade as well as black and white.
The film itself is pretty straightforward with the main storyline.
A UFO lands in Washington May or June of 1951 in hops to make contact with our race, On Peaceful terms. Even brings a gift a *Gift to cure several sicknesses / and diseases. .. [ this ]
~ The main character/ Traveler, is misinterpreted and misread by government Completely (* government from the 1950s). Does exit and Escape remains here finds a temporary Residence and shelter nearby and in the process learns more about our culture school and ways of learning ..》》 finds about and seeks out a well-educated and highly trained scientist they exchange ideas .
~ And so endpoint if anything an ultimatum is issued for a Planet. Excellent supremely acted by the main character and the rest of cast .. For any science fiction film, or TV show of that piord, thay dident have much in the way of special effects available . Rely & mainly had to reley Mainley on storyline and Acton to get through.
- there wasn't much of special effects round during then. Star Trek TV show didn't come around to Some years later - and they even used more offerin colorful imagery and paper mache for enhance visual effects - Someone like a *Stanley Kubrick who filmed the landmark 2001 Space Odyssey [ which didn't come out till 1968 and broke records in films ]-
~ So for what it was, a film based on set in the 50s with paranoia and the like was well in Supply. And I suppose when Patty Duke was the role model commonplace for every younger girl. A few somewhat decent films Robinson Crusoe on Mars the name one- Extremely stupid Title by the by the Way. Edgar Allan 2000 Leagues Under the Sea and everything else.. Then you get a feeling like they do sit still which much better story line and way better acting than the others which does ask some very serious questions that the viewer has to think about a deal with afterwards..
--- Heck even on an episode of Star Trek Enterprise/ which was on network regular TV ( CBS I think it was back in 2003
~Even made a reference to the same movie and even showed a few segments of it on the Star Trek episodes . Thinking back - was the ship's Engineers Trip" Pleyed this movie for a girl from a different species from a difference planet or something. Yep the episode was called *Cogenitor
For seven or eight dollars as it is it's well worth for any movie fans to add this picture to their collection
- for anyone who who can appreciate the medium of Science Fiction as well as decent storytelling.
-Dam for seven or eight bucks, plus whatever in shipping it's well worth it .🌟🌟🌟🌟
