You have got to be kidding?
This basic part surprisingly is not unique to Shimano. Before brazeons became ubiquitious they were all the rage and are a necessary component for older bicycles. The round clamp allows it to be installed either over the chain stay or under the chainstay. It keeps the cable housing running to the derailleur taut while allowing a bare derailleur control cable to run to the bottom bracket. It takes just a couple of minutes to install using a screw driver. I suppose you could buy a dozen of these things and make a funky necklace if you were so inclined, maybe adding a d'oro freewheel cog as a gorget.

This lens allows for manual focus in prime to wide range. Low volume.
This lens works in the prime to wide angle range. At full extension it is very close to the 20mm which is prime for this camera. The pancake set up makes the camera more portable for excursions, like bicycle randonnées.
