Could be better
11 of 12 found this helpful The Good: Remote is waterproof within spec's and is great for using in environments where you don't want to use your smartphone app or where you can't physically get the the camera. Like when camera is mounted on the front of your kayak. Fairly easy to set up and use. Comes with convenient wrist strap.
The not so Good: I was hoping that the remote would have one button to instantly turn on camera and begin recording like the red button on the hero 5 does. Unfortunately, unless you leave the remote and camera on (and draining batteries) this can't be done. You must first turn on the remote and there is a lag while the Bluetooth connects to the camera and then you can begin recording.
Once you get used to the remote it works ok but it could be better.
