Best gear selection I could find for a 1x10 road conversion.
SRAM makes the only real options for a 1x road bike. I'm using this for a homebuilt 1x conversion on a road bike that was originally equipped with 10-speed Ultegra. I primarily ride this bike on 40-80 mile group rides averaging 16-18mph with moderate climbing.
I changed out the double chainring for a SRAM X-Sync 50t and I'm using this 12-32 cassette in the rear with the original Ultegra road derailleur.
Shimano's options for wide-range 10-speed cassettes all have big jumps between the smaller cogs, which is awful for the type of riding I do. For instance they go 12-14-16-18 etc, then narrower jumps between the larger (lower) gears.
This makes it very hard to use the "fast" end of the range, because the jump between 12 and 14 is huge, and you definitely notice that 13 is missing. It's easy to find yourself in a position where 12 is WAY too tall a gear to push, but 14 is too spinny.
This Sram cassette, on the other hand, goes 12-13-14-15-17 etc. so I get the smallest possible gaps between gears at the high end, and bigger jumps at the low (climbing) end where they're less likely to bother me.

Great-looking, durable chain at a very reasonable price.
1 of 1 found this helpful I've used KMC Z-chains before and they've always held up very well. The gold appears to be anodized, not painted, so I'm hoping it doesn't flake with wear. The gold looks fantastic and really pops on my build. Includes a good-quality master link.

Beautiful cable housing at a great price.
This cable housing looks great in person. The fiber weave has a lot of depth and looks to be of very high quality. I'm using it in alongside a gold KMC Z-chain on a bicycle build and they look great together.
