Fantastic follow up
1 of 1 found this helpful Lost Themes II brilliantly picks up where last year's Lost Themes left off, offering similar moods and reminding one of the glory days of Carpenter's films, although this album sounds more 80's than 70's in comparison (a good thing, I'd say).
Distant Dream and Angel's Asylum are the clear stand-outs tracks here, drawing in the listener with a brilliant blend of electro-ambient and progressive rock, keeping it both moody and eerily beautiful. The album as a whole possesses these qualities, although there are some tracks that get a bit repetitive (Dark Blues and Virtual Survivor almost sound like the same song in two parts).
Overall, if you are a fan of John Carpenter then you will love this album. Also recommended for anyone with an interest in synthwave or retro soundtracks.

Paradise Found
This official re-issue of Paradise Lost, which I never thought would receive a proper release, is absolutely worth the wait and listen.
The songs have been remastered to a highly satisfying quality and the bonus tracks of alternate takes (enough to release on an EP) offer interesting points of comparison, in some cases better than the main takes. It comes in a well-packaged mediabook with plenty of insightful notes and photos from the band, along with lyrics.
The music itself carries the band's signature blend of power and epic doom metal, with elements of speed metal thrown in for good measure. Paradise Lost also has more of a melodic vibe than their previous releases and although one or two tracks are a bit mediocre, as a whole it is ultimately a worthy inclusion into the band's repertoire. The final three tracks (Chaos Rising, Fallen Idols and the title track) are often lauded for good reason.
If you are a Cirith Ungol fan or enjoy this kind of music, I would absolutely recommend it.
