Just plug and play. Mounted it under my desktop moved all my cables from old switch.

Helps with some of the noise
Just bought a new mechanical keyboard with brown switches. Used in an office environment, knowing there would some noise while typing (developer). Using these o-rings has helped quite a bit. Still have the mechanical feel, but less noise. Rings help stop the keys on a full press from bottoming out.
