Great lens
1 of 1 found this helpful One key benefit is that it has a longer minimum focus distance than many other macro lenses. which makes macro shooting easier. You're always going to have to be close to the subject, but every inch of distance you can get is good, so you don't end up blocking your own lights, scaring the subject (if it's a live insect, etc.)
Another is that the switch on the side limits the focus range for autofocus, so it focuses much faster. You can also set it to exactly 1:1 focus any time, with that same switch.
