It's an air filter
I put it on and it fit.

Fine, but a small flaw
It worked for a while, but the plastic underneath the heating element started to melt, which made the heating surface collapse. I effected a repair, and it's fine now, but you have to be careful not to let the hot plate overheat. In my opinion, the plastic should have been capable of enduring more heat.

Fit perfectly.
It did the trick. I only wish that the OM had provided the replacement tank as a recall item. The original design -- with bolts that went right into the sump of the tank -- was idiotic and bound to fail.
