underperforms other antennas and seems a little flimsy

I thought that if my omni-directional antenna was successfully tuning a distant station, then surely I could do at least as well (or better) with a huge, dedicated directional antenna pointed directly at the source. Not so. This antenna fails to pick up distant stations that are easily tuned with the more versatile and omni-directional antenna from a competitor whose name just might rhyme with FlannelBlaster. In a fair side-by-side comparison (mounting the antenna in the same place, facing the same direction, using the same electronics and cabling) this antenna just does not perform as well as the competing antenna. Secondly, it seems a little flimsy. It's probably fine if you live in a calm place without much extreme weather, but I'd be shocked if this thing withstood regular winds over 50mph, as I get here on my hilltop.

utter junk

There is less that works than is broken about this piece of crap. Read the reviews for the app on the Google Play store. For the last month, nearly everyone sees the same failure: the app fails to connect to the device with some fallacious claim about your location services not being enabled. On the rare occasions it DOES connect, it has other major issues. The app crashes often, and its attempt to update the firmware on the switch hung at 22%, after which the switch is now completely broken and won't even turn the light on manually. I know have a useless brick wired into my wall. AVOID THIS PIECE OF JUNK AT ALL COSTS. That anyone can even market such a thing in good conscience is inconceivable.
