Better than just a knife

Passable job considering low price point. We bought this to try slicing our our prosciutto and to see if we'd like to buy something decent in the future. The 200w motor is not ideal for the job but you can get a decent amount sliced in the 10mins of operating time as advised. We weren't expecting much considering the low price point so we weren't really disappointed. With a light hand and a bit of finesse you can get a pretty decently fine slice of prosciutto, it'd probably do a nice job with ham (softer) or salami (smaller). There's quite a lot of play in the sliding mechanism and it's nearly impossible to keep the machine in one place during operation on its own, so we placed a cutting board behind to brace it against the wall while gently pushing into each slice and that fixed most of the instability. We'll buy a flat blade to replace the serated one supplied and that might help a bit too. Worth it for the newbie, but that's probably it.
