About
Learning to grow organic under the cover of pine & oak trees. My ducks are both pets & fellow gardeners in this experiment. Is it possible to be a little more self-sufficient on a small rented space in the forest? I don't know but I'm trying.

NOT a nut cracker
It could not crack the nut! I got almonds from my tee this year & needed to crack them. Put the raw nut in the device & tried to crack it & all that happened was the handle bowed. This should be called the nut cracks it!

Success!
I'm a happy camper, now. I cut a 4" hole in the bottom of my pond liner to put in a bottom drain. Long story short, I wanted to patch the hole. Used plumbers "goop" a silicone goo the 1st time. It held for a day or so then failed. Second attempt, I used the "smartpond" patch...it failed. Third time's a charm right? Yes! Used this patch & a week later all is well. I had to overlap the patch to cover the 4" hole...not a problem. Best part yet...my ducks didn't have to wait 72 hrs. for the drying time like the "smartpond" patch. You can fill the pond immediately after patching. Need I say: I am thrilled with this product.

go, go, ground squirrel
would have given it a five star but one of the three packets I received were all black in color. I discourage ground squirrels from stealing my eggs or produce with my 50# crossbow. the brightly colored bolts make finding them easier. the black bolts are a one-time-use because I can never find them again. these plastic bolts last longer, don't break as easily as others, just wish I could get them ALL in yellow or orange. otherwise, i'm pleased with the bolts.
