Importance of having the m lock plates rotate

I must point out to all, esp Mr curtiharolso0 the importance of having the two m lock back plates rotated 90 degrees once they go thru the m lock slot. If not, the plates will tighten up and you think you are good to go. Thats how the mount falls off at the range. It is hard to tell and no easy thing to know the plates have rotated 90 degrees as you cant see them. Much trial and error.
