A great compact camera for family/everyday snaps. Great stuff

The Canon Powershot is a great little camera. I own a 5D Mark II and when my young son started to show interest in photography, I looked on ebay in an attempt to find a cheap second hand camera for him to start with. I very fortunately found the Canon PowerShot SD1300 IS Digital ELPH 12.1 MP Digital Camera and ended up winning the auction for an unbelievable $51 (plus $6 for postage). It has proven to be a great camera. Quality wise, it takes excellent stills, shoots quite useful HD (720p) video and is small, compact and reliable. It comes with it's own leatherette pouch and we have used it again and again with great results. For a compact camera to take family snaps and the like, it is excellent.

The DJI Mavic2 Pro is a terrific drone. It’s small and powerful with much better battery life than previous models. Lots of great features too.

Aston Microphones Element Active Moving-coil Microphone Bundle

Great mic

I’ve been an audio engineer for 40 years and I own and have used some wonderful microphones in that time. I recently stumbled across a review of the Aston Element mic and it was a very positive review mostly concerning its performance and sound. To top it off the mic is very cheap. Experience tells me that cheap mics tend to sound as the price indicates. I read a number of other reviews and they all indicated this was a very nice mic. I thought that it was a small risk given the price and bought one sight unseen. When I received it and plugged it in, I was very impressed with its presence and clarity. I recorded some vocals with it and was very impressed with the results. To top it off the supplied cradle, while appearing to be a little flimsy, actually works really well and provides great isolation. The magnetic pop shield works very well…surprisingly well as well as looking good and taking up little space. A great package for $260AUD…incredible really. It has prompted me to investigate other Aston mics. As it turns out a colleague revealed all of the vocals on his recent album were recorded with an Aston Spirit. The presence and clarity are very obvious and again, by comparison the mic is comparatively cheap. Well done Aston Microphones!👍👍🎤
