Panasonic H-FS100300 LUMIX G VARIO 100-300mm F4.0-5.6 MEGA O.I.S. Lens
27 October 2015
A good long lens for mft
I bought this lens in gently used condition. It came with front and rear lens caps and the lens shade. This past summer, I paired it with my G3 camera and was able to catch some nice handheld shots of some native birds in Southwestern Wyoming. Used out of doors, I find that the maximum aperture of f5.6 (300 mm) is sufficient to provide adequate depth of field. This is not a fast lens and would not be of much use in available light photography. While the mft format makes it possible to produce much lighter and smaller equipment, this lens/camera combo is no lightweight; fatigue sets in quickly during handheld use. That causes the user to search for a suitable solution to the fatigue issue. Fortunately, a German firm called Roesch Feinmechanik makes a lens collar that has a machined fitting on its underside that allows it to be mounted to a quick release tripod plate. The user mounts the collar to the lens and then the collar to the plate. The lens then can be mounted to the tripod, and then the camera body can be mounted to the lens. I find that this provides a cost-effective solution with good stability. The collar even has a cutout that maintains access to the mega O.I.S on/off switch on the lens.

Case for Hair Trimmer and Accessories Braun BT3040 BT3020 Multi Grooming Kit
04 August 2020
A case like this should have been part of the trimmer set
I bought this case because Braun sells their trimmer set with a soft pouch to store the various attachments. I was concerned that if I were to take the set on a journey, the soft pouch could not protect the molded plastic attachments and would therefore expose them to breakage. Shame on Braun. I have a series 7 shaver that came with a hard shell case.
NEW Ryobi 18-Volt ONE Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner Model P718K + Li-Ion Battery
03 August 2019
Cutting the cord is well worth it.
The model p718k vacuum is versatile. It can be used as a conventional floor vac both for bare floors on its low power setting, and on carpets and rugs with its high power setting. It comes with a crevice tool and a brush tool (stiff bristle), and I opted to make a separate purchase of the companion accessory toolkit, which adds a soft brush, an expansion hose, and a crevice tool with extender built in. The Ryobi paperwork that comes with the vacuum could do a better job of illustrating the steps for wall mounting the charger, but I find that most manufacturers these days think it is okay to try to keep it simple. Unfortunately, that doesn't always work for the customer. They include 2 screws and 2 plastic expanding plugs if a stud cannot be used. The plastic plugs are inadequate in my opinion, so I used 2 butterfly mollies from the lhs to complete my installation. The butterfly mollies spread the weight of the vacuum with battery mounted over a wider area so that even if your installation does not offer a stud, the drywall will support it. Another thing that you can do, which is not mentioned in the literature, is to mount the charger in a convenient place, and then stow the vacuum unit without the battery in a closet. The battery can then be kept charged like any other One + tool, and then it can be removed from the charger and installed on the vacuum for immediate use. Ryobi recommends that the vacuum be stored with the battery mounted to the wall charger because it cannot just be leaned against a wall. The long shaft pivots from the floor beater brush rollers, and the rollers themselves are free-wheeling, so it is best to place the vacuum in a closet on the floor standing in a corner with other floor-standing items keeping it from rolling. Again, this assumes that the user is not wall-mounting the whole vacuum as Ryobi recommends. My recommendation gives me more options for where to place the vacuum when it is not in use. Each to their own, I always say...
