poor magnet

This magnet is very weak. Bar magnets are supposed to have the poles at the ends of the bar, but this one has the poles in the middle of each side. I have attached two pictures of this magnet under iron filings to show the flux paths despite the weak strength. One laying flat and the other laying on edge.
