A Hidden Leica Gem
I bought the Leica Summarit-M 50mm f2.5 Lens to compliment my Leica Summarit-M 35mm f2.5 lens and both make up the lens portion of my Leica M9 kit. The Summarit-M series is among the most affordable Leica made lenses. The f2.5 version was replaced a few years ago with a f2.4 version and now both are discontinued. so you will only find used copies. While cheap by Leica prices, these lenses are far from cheap. While slightly slower than the f2.0 Summicrons they have the same Leica high quality optics and build quality. Besides the slightly slower speed, the biggest difference is the lens barrel is aluminum instead of brass and you get a soft pouch instead of a leather lens bag, plus a cost savings of several thousand dollars. The 35mm and 50mm are identical twins except for the focal length. There is also a Summarit-M 75mm f2.5 and a Summarit-M 90mm f2.5.

Great Affordable Lens
The Panasonic LUMIX G 42.5mm f1.7 Aspherical Power OIS lens is an absolute bargain. The lens itself is mostly metal, solidly built, and Panasonic includes a hood, as well as a storage bag. The image quality and the quality of the results are top of the line.

Cannot close focus with this coupling ring on the X100F.
1 of 1 found this helpful I bought this coupling ring to be able to use 49mm filters on my X100F without having to buy an adapter/hood kit since I do not like using hoods. Build quality is acceptable and coupler threads allowed easy mounting on the X100F and then mounting filters.
However the coupler is not long (deep) enough for proper clearance between the lens and filter glass when close focusing. This results in the front of the lens hitting the filter glass and causing a focusing error that locks up the X100F and requires a power off/on cycle to recover.
