Classic Andy Lau performance, excellent movie!

In The Mood for Love & more Wong Kar Wai
3 of 3 found this helpful Kar Wai is brilliant, his movies are pure emotion, pure beauty. At first you're not quite sure how to take his movies... if you are an action movie buff as I am, you all of a sudden are in the middle of this surreal, hauntingly beautiful film and trying to follow a plot line. Advice... don't try to follow the plot line... this movie is way above and beyond a mere plotline. I recommend watching Days of Being Wild, then In The Mood for Love, and then 2046 (in that order). They all have a similiar thread and characters. They are the kind of movies to watch on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

These are MUST HAVES for your movie collection!
Hard Boiled is a roller-coaster thrill ride from start to finish... talk about action, this movie has it in spades! The Killer, despite it's hard core title, is actually more of a love story. Yes it has action also, but shows a more human side of what it must be like, to be a hired gun and to make a mistake... these movies go very well together as a set & I highly recommend them for your collection or as a way to get started with Hong Kong movies.
