Bose Cinemate 130 Home Theater System 625907-1300 CineMate 130 Brand New
18 October 2015
Full Home Theater in a Slim Package
Where to start, I am not going to compare this system with a full surround sound system simply because it is not that and there is no sense in comparing apples and oranges. I will say this though, the soundstage is wide enough and it creates a fairly nice virtual surround sound atmosphere, which is plenty for most people. I have tested countless products over the past few years and this is one of the best sound bar systems out there. If you absolutely want a multi speaker setup, then go with that and don't complain about the fact that this is just one speaker. I see too many people comparing this to their $5000 7.2 home theater and complain that it doesn't sound the same, news flash, this is not a multi speaker setup, nor is it meant to be one. I actually sold my 5.1 system because I wanted outstanding quality in a simple package and this sound bar delivers. I will not go into technical details or dimensions because you can look that up on their website. For all of those Bose haters out there, Bose does come with a steep price tag, but there is a reason for that. Bose offers incredible sound in a simple design and outstanding build quality that will last for years to come. Also, since this system comes with an audio calibration system, you don't need to spend countless hours trying to configure this system. The settings are very basic, you can adjust treble, bass, center channel and even dialogue mode and smart volume, which keeps the volume level somewhat evenly distributed. You could do a lot more with a receiver, but you need more wiring, speakers, etc. This is the point that most of you are interested in, the sound quality. The quality is outstanding, the highs are bright and super crisp, the midrange is full bodied and warm. The lows are also represented nicely. You will notice that the subwoofer is fairly compact and a lot of young bass heads might want a colossal subwoofer where bass trumps everything else. This is not that, but then again, bass was never meant to be overwhelming, but instead compliment the highs and midrange. The compact subwoofer does just that. It sounds especially great in movies and games. The bass is nice and punchy and not too muddy or booming. Music and TV shows are also excellent to watch, especially with the enhanced dialogue feature, which makes watching at night a delight. I would definitely recommend this simple home theater solution.
