Refresh the look
I thought about something like this for years, then finally did it. I need to refurbish my 1999 SLK230 Sport. The original headlamps were dim and fogged due to the age. These really updated the look. The only regret was not doing it sooner - and maybe choosing the silver instead of the black version. I prefer an OEM look - and the black definitely makes it look like an aftermarket retrofit. The silver might look more "factory" and go better with the AMG Sport package. Was fairly easy to install except I tried to use the bulbs that came with it instead of moving over the old ones. The wiring is different enough that the new bulbs caused some issues. Once I put back the old bulbs (halogen) - everything worked fine again.
