Don't let "Inspired by true events" cause you to skip this GRIPPING STORY!
A gripping story but be prepared for the emotional rollercoaster and the nudity. This is fiction, but it could have been true every step of the way. The subtitles do not detract, but you may have to watch the film more than once to grasp the betrayals and a few aspects of the storyline. I don't see how a person could only watch it once...it is very compelling. Masterfully done. When you reach the end, back at the Kibbutz, you will understand the pain in the main character's eyes and realize why you are looking at a very old woman in a young woman's body.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Immerse Yourself!
I am preparing a WWII display on War Bond drives and rallies, so this book seemed like something I should read before I met the public. It has proven to be an absolutely fascinating case study. In a nutshell, it describes in depth the psychology that went into the radio marathon involving beloved singer Kate Smith on Sept. 21, 1943. In one 18-hour period, she brought in $39 million in pledges in the Third War Loan appeal. Phenomenal! I find myself reading to discover how much of this tremendous response was due to Kate Smith herself and how much was due to her script writers.
I don't necessarily like to mark up (by highlighting) my books, but this one was affordable enough to do just that! This author has such a way with words that if you thumb through my copy, almost every page has lines of yellow. So, superb writing and a scientific study of the art of mass persuasion. I guarantee as you read you will be nodding your head in understanding as Mr. Merton peels back the layers of the onion. Maybe you will be doing the same self-examination as I did in pinpointing which technique would have finally made me pick up the phone and call in my pledge. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
