Great mechanical & biological filter, not so UV feature
I have been using this filter in a 100 gallon aquarium with dozen medium goldfishes. As usual they are well fed 6x a day so I need a robust mechanical & biological filtering device, this is where the filter size excel in this purpose. The only minor thing is that the interior material is not rated for long UV exposure, so I only use the UV feature 1 day per month just to keep the electronic functional.

MBBR Media
This is a must media for MBBR, 4 CF will fill up any 55 gallon barrel very nice. scale up if you have those 200-300 stock tank capacity. I seed/dose with aquascape bacteria for a 8K gallon pond system, the MBBR is functional with the de nitrification process in 2 wks. Great price per CF unit, I have seen them after 10 yrs and they are structurally as good as new.

Aeration for sure
This is my second air pump from VivoSun. The first one just sit in the sun for 3 yrs and still working as day 1. I recommend cleaning/replace the air filter every 6 months and annual penetrating oil lubrication in the bearing sleeve, traveling piston. They are used for my 7K gallon pond's aeration purpose.
