Walthers Cornerstone HO Scale Van Dyke Windmill Kit #933-3198
22 November 2023
Nice detail, but frame parts are too thin
The kit is well made, except for one important detail. It is made of very thin plastic for a lot of the structural pieces, and mine came with a lot of broken rungs (about 7 total) on the A frames. The detail is great, but who wants to have to repair the parts before they even assemble it? If it was made just a little thicker, it could still look realistic in scale, and be more durable. It's certainly one of the tallest windmills available, since it towers over the Woodland Scenics models, but I'm not sure you need them this tall either. But it does say you can make it to various heights, so I suppose that is a plus for adaptability. Anyway, I would like to see it made stronger by thickening key parts on it.

Some of the best!
Just had to counter the only review left as ONE STAR! Which was an error on the reviewer's part, if you read his review, because he liked it! What's not to like?! Atlas/Kato, made in Japan locos are some of the best ever made. Great runners!
Bushnell Legend M Series 10x 42mm Water Repellent Hunting Binoculars | 199104

Full size binocular with up to date features and view
Bushnell Legend M's are a great buy at some discount prices that have been around lately. They are full of up to date features, which translates to a better view comparable to higher priced binoculars, at a great price. The deliver bright, sharp detail with a neutral color balance, unlike some are very warm in colors. Each way has pros and cons, but these are very nice, if you can handle a full size binocular, and don't need a compact. 10 power isn't always easy to hold steady either, for older or very young (little people need small binoculars). I prefer 10x for more detail at longer range, though in a closer environment and distances like woods walking, most prefer 7 or 8x, with 8 being the norm for most situations. The 7 and 8's are easier to hold steady for any and all observers, so take that into consideration and you may be happier with the lower 8x, or even 7. I even have a 6x32 that I like to use in the woods, so there is a use for them all. Visit birdforum.net and the binocular forum to be educated about binoculars, and you might even find a new hobby!
