Surprisingly good
I bought this book on a whim and was actually pleasantly surprised. As a graduate student in sociolgy, I thought the book was actually a rather balanced look at non-mainstream religion in America today. While not an academic work in the traditional sense, the author does rely on a lot of established theory and presents it in a really accessible and entertaining manner. I would recommend it, and have, to anyone looking at a non-traditional view of religion in American society.
