Well made and not too large.
Spinlock has made an excellent quality rope clutch. It is a bit smaller than typical clutches (less to trip over) but holds line up to 1/2 in. The soft touch rubberized covering is a nice touch. .

Loud grinding motor makes this useless.
Cheaply made (mine had the top of the glued pylon come off as I took it out of the box for the first time). But the most annoying thing is the loud grinding motor and gears. It is louder than my model train locomotives when at rest. So it really distracts, unless you have your train running. Since this is a decoration piece it should quietly fly Santa through the sky, not clank along in a distractive manner. Poorly designed and cheaply made. I returned the one I purchased.
