It does its job well, is easy to refill, the controls are straightforward, and it runs like a champ.

Professional quality at a great price
My recent research showed there seem to be two kinds of lab jacks: (1) jacks that work well and are crazy-expensive, and (2) jacks that are very affordable and work very badly. Buying this jack got me a type 1 jack at a price I was happy with.

Works great!
This is much more effective, and easier to deal with, than less expensive pill cutters. It's well worth the extra $2-3.
Some reviews complain about this and other pill cutters crushing pills into powser, rather than cutting them. The biggist factor in that is not the pill cutter, but the ingredients they put in the pill, like binders, coloring agents, preservatives, fillers, and the medication itself. Because of that, some pills are going to crumble like chalk no matter how you try to cut them.
I have to cut some pills for our cat that are pretty crumbly. The previous cutter I used mostly crushed them, and this one doesn't crush them as much, so that's a win in my book.
