If you want an inexpensive, small, basic field monitor, I'd recommend it
This one is same quality as the Lilliput A5,I promise
I've tried out several small field monitors looking for an inexpensive option that meets my needs – I'm using it with a GH5 rig. I also own the Lilliput A7S (the monitor, not the camera) and have been impressed with it, but wanted something smaller and lighter. The A5 isn't perfect, but it is very good for the price and it's the closest thing I've found to my ideal monitor so far.
First the pros: it is extremely lightweight and compact; the dual battery option is great, although I've only tried it with Sony batteries so far; the monitor is sharp with decent color reproduction and is reasonably bright; it has a handful of assist functions that work well; and I haven't experienced any reliability issues with it so far.
For the cons: it is almost too small – it's noticeably smaller than a 5.7" monitor and I think that might actually be the sweet spot between portability and view-ability; the plastic construction is a bit creaky compared to pricier monitors; the sun hood feels cheap and I'm not crazy about how it attaches; and only having one shortcut key means that most of the assist features are only accessible by going through the menu.
I was looking for a reliable, cheap monitor to use primarily for checking framing and focus. The A5 meets my needs without adding much weight or bulk to my rig. It's cheaper than most monitors in this range and – so far – better than the other ones I've tried. I can't yet vouch for its long-term reliability, but I'm impressed with it so far. If you want an inexpensive, small, basic field monitor, I'd recommend it..
