Apple Ipod Shuffle 2nd Gen. Overlooked & underrated
This shuffle comes in 1 or 2 gig varieties & is my Ipod of choice for the gym. It's no bigger than a matchbook, weighs less than an ounce, & has a very secure spring clip. It's simple, clean & of adequate capacity(1gig) for any of my itunes playlists. It has the controls built into the unit face. Later generations have the controls on the headphone cord, which will prevent you from using other brands & styles of headphones. Play functions are either in playlist order, or shuffled randomly. There's no EQ function, but it delivers adequate frequency response for most listeners. I average 8-10 hours of listening time one a single charge, at moderate-to-loud volume levels. For most activities, the clip is sufficient, but for rigorous activities, some sort of arm or wristband case may be needed(or stick it in your pocket). If you need low maintenance tunes, this is a superior choice. Additionally, I've seen some other reviews about the itunes interface & have to disagree. It's rather simple. If itunes is set to autosync, the shuffle will autofill with a playlist. Just click on the shuffle from the itunes sidebar on the left. Choose the playlist you want from the drop down menu at the bottom of the screen. You can also adjust settings for the shuffle syncing. Click the settings button at the bottom right(the default setting is to erase the shuffle contents when syncing). If you just want to charge when you plug it in, make sure autosync for itunes is turned off. If autosync is on, you must eject the ipod from itunes(but not from windows) & let it sit to charge.

This CPU can be a cheap & worthwhile upgrade (in the right system).
I purchased the pentium 4 3.06/512/533 to breathe some life into an old pc using a 2.4/256/400 celeron. In terms relative to a socket 478 processor, the P4 3.06 was a worthwhile upgrade for my application. At a price at under $20, upgrading to the fastest processor supported by my motherboard was a painless decision. I would recommend this P4 as an upgrade under the right conditions. Your board must support Hyper Threading. This CPU runs HOT, so your PC case should be well ventilated & you should have good CPU heatsink/fan. Running on windows xp with a CPU 2.0ghz or greater, & less than 3gb of memory will yield a negligible increase in perceived speed. In XP, the bottleneck is with memory allocation & having adequate ram is essential to get the most from this processor upgrade. At 1.0 - 2.5gb of ram, the CPU upgrade in my system was noticeable, but only slightly. Once I hit 3gb of ram, this processor started to show it's true potential. Overall system speed picked up significantly & boot time was reduced dramatically. In short, if you have an old factory built micro ATX sytem with 2 RAM slots, your money is better spent on newer platform.

Excellent quality, Best Dollar-Per-Watt value I've seen in a top-tier brand
I purchased a used(mint) Polk PA880 as a replacement for an old school Kicker zr360 which was failing. Part of a premium stock system integration with a better subwoofer. I went with the PA880 for a few reasons: 1) I trust the brand & have had good exeriences with Polk speakers in the past. 2) It was suitable for a high power application. 3) Very attractive price point. It's currently powering an Audiobahn Dub1200(700 watts RMS) 4ohm DVC running at 2ohms. I've found the power rating of the PA880 to be accurate & addequate(500 watts RMS/ 800 watts peak @ 2ohms) for my application. The pros: It has a small footprint for a class A/B amplifier with this kind of wattage. So far, it's had zero problems running at a 2ohm load & it's output at frequencies below 80hz is impressive. It has a bass boost function but I've never had a need to turn it on. It comes with a remote bass level knob which is a neccessity for stock system intergration. The cons: I've found that transient bass tones can be a little flat in comparison to my last amp, but it's most likely due to the high demand of my particular sub. I've got alot of experience with custom mobile audio installations & I'd recommend this amp to anybody who needs a solid mono amp for a single 12" or dual 10" application & doesn't want to break the bank. I would've been very satisfied with this amp at $300-$400. I paid under $100 & it was the best money I ever spent on any amp... BY FAR. Run 4gauge power/ground with a 1 farad cap & enjoy!
