Overwritten and under edited
If you need to study this book, borrow it. Don’t buy it. It’s wordy, overwritten, academic without being scholarly, and extremely verbose. If it had been edited properly, it might have warranted publication as a brief article. One suspects this is another PhD thesis unsuccessfully adapted for publication. Language can be beautiful. This is not.
