Hella Stern Navigation Light Incadescent 2Nm Black 12V

Built like a tank
Well-designed and sturdily built, this light looks like it could easily last the life of the boat. Classic design well suited to traditionally styled boats.
New Victorinox Swiss Army Knife German One Hand Trekker+ Leather Sheath 54876 74
21 February 2018
Beautifully made, useful knife
This Victorinox is German Army issue, and it’s built like a battleship! This knife has a long enough blade to be useful (most Swiss Army knives have short blades) and several very handy tools. The main blade has an oval-shaped hole at the back for easy one-handed opening. The wood saw is long enough to be functional, not decorative, and is very sharp. There’s a really beefy Phillips head and a combo straight screwdriver blade (small blade)/can opener, and a larger straight screwdriver blade combined with a bottle opener. Last but not least there’s a very sharp awl which can be used as a wood drill in a pinch. The whole knife is gracefully slender (because it doesn’t have a bazillion gadgety blades) and is sided with olive drab scales. They don’t seem to be just a garden-variety plastic, but perhaps are glass (nylon) filled? They seem quite robust. All metalwork is flawless with no rough edges, misshapen parts, etc. a true work of a knife makers art! I own a number of Swiss Army knives, both Wenger and Victorinox, but this is a knife meant to be carried in your pocket, not in a backpack. It’s slim but has all you’ll need in most cases. It’s become my favorite outdoor carry knife (unless I’m sailing!). I highly recommend this nice piece of kit!
