Cheap feeling, nothing like the photo
1 of 1 found this helpful Nothing like the photo, the faux fur is the cheapest, scratchiest feeling faux fur you can imagine. The heat it provides is barely luke warm.

Quality stand
Still works great after a whole year of abuse, it's been in my backyard in the weather the whole time, no sign of rust, nothing has come loose, and the damper still works as new!

Not great
1 of 1 found this helpful Really rough sliding action, almost like there is grit stuck inside it. Edges are extremely sharp. I've had cheaper plastic ones feel better than this. I know it's cheap for a metal vernier caliper, but this really didn't meet my expectations considering all the 5 star reviews. It is no way "as good as the more expensive ones they replace" as one reviewer stated. I'll be saving for a genuine Mitutoyo instead.
