Well made and good value. Great for ferrets
I purchased this cage for my two ferrets and it's great for them. I don't think it would be suitable for rabbits or guinea pigs though (ramps too narrow/steep) and at 2cm the bar spacing is a little too wide for rats. The design is similar to the much dearer Ferret Kingdom cages, but a little smaller and only the right hand side doors open. As the doors are large this isn't a problem. (I recommend you don't buy a cage with small doors as they make it difficult to clean or place objects inside.) It's well made and sturdy, and comes flat-packed with instructions for assembly. All I needed was a couple of hex keys (Ikea ones did the job) and I found it easy to assemble on my own. I did need to use a hammer to apply a light tap on one of the joins to get things lined up (top panel) but mostly it popped together easily. My only criticism is I wish the platforms were wider as they're really too narrow to place bedding etc on. I worked around this by slotting them further in from the cage sides than suggested, and then placing on top of them a piece of cardboard cut to a better width. Not ideal, but it works for now until I can find something more suitable than cardboard. Also, I left the bottom panel out so my ferrets can play in the bottom slide out tray, which I can then easily clean. Interstate delivery was fast - within two days of being ordered. Overall it's good value for money and I recommend it for ferrets!
