fond memories
Having been a fan of Doris Day many years ago, plus an admirer of the enormously varied skills of Andre Previn, I was intrigued by this duo. Mr Previn can turn his hand to almost anything; Ms Day, whilst possessing an exquisite voice, was never a jazz singer, nor did she ever pretend to be. The album, therefore, makes for an interesting 'mix': beautiful ballad singing from Ms Day, embellished by some inspired improvisation from Mr Previn. Some familiar songs, some (to me) new ones - mainly Previn compositions.Altogether a fascinating, and quite unique experience.

Brubeck Revisited
I was intrigued to bid for this because for many years one of my all-time favourite Brubeck albums was 'Jazz Goes To College' (Jazz at Oberlin). This CD suggested some of these same tracks, plus others from an additional concert, would be included. Sure enough, this proved to be the case, with both Brubeck and Desmond complementing each other in, for the day, some very original and inventive improvisations. A thoroughly enjoyable album, even though I already possessed half of it already!

Compact, quality item.
1 of 1 found this helpful I have found this product to be just what I wanted. It is small enough to be unobtrusive, attractive enough to be an addition to its position in the house and generally a good, quality item, with excellent sound reproduction for its size. very satisfied.
