MRC Tech II 2500 train controllers
Have had 3 for many years and worked well for my layouts. Now the ones i have bought off ebay have been about 50/50 as to work great to need repair. But they haved aged and some will require some cleaning internally from the acid flux used on these boards years ago when made. Some components have gone bad and require replacement. Not very difficult to repair with basic electronic knowledge. Access requires a security torc #25 bit to open and does require unsoldering some parts to get to components that need replaced. I like the case and features of the case so may over time gut the components and build better cleaner design inside them . They work great in conventional train layout. Going digital it would be best to go with better power pack.
